Anya comes from Denmark. "Greet Me" is an elegantly produced slice of soothing electronic R&B. What an understated and classy way to open up the latest compilation in the always reliable "Sound of Copenhagen" series. Anya fits right in somewhere between the lush sounds of Jessie Ware, Beady Belle or Rosie Lowe.

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS: "A COWARDS CONFESSION" - Thomas Gaist

Some of you may remember the hypnotising "Blue Bird" by Thomas Gaist aka Thom Catt, a track taken from "Sound of Copenhagen vol. 10" which I was raving about last winter... Well the mysterious Danish singer is back now with another stellar, eerily beautiful one of a kind song "A Cowards Confessions" which flawlessly combines retro and future with its unpredictable mélange of old-fashioned vocal harmonies, unpredictable melody twists and productional curiosities. Building up from just a few sublime bleeps, the song finishes with a whole multi-layered wall of sound of electronic finesse. It fascinates and thrills me to come across music redefining eclecticism and denying any genre-classification just like Thomas Gaist's surprising "A Cowards Confessions".

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS: "I KNOW" - Rosemary

I never thought I could see the hugely Avant-garde electro duo Rosemary going so high budget! "I Know" comes from their phenomenal EP "Pomegranate" which emerged last week and is now accompanied by this twisted visual banquet or perhaps even the video of the year. The EP includes some of the most unusual electronic productions I've heard in months confirming the uncompromising attitude of this multi-talented and enigmatic Danish/Iranian duo and this massive track which may resemble some of the early stuff by The Knife but that is never a bad thing. I first became hooked on Rosemary when they dropped "A Persian Tale" - their debut EP including "Friends" and "Sleep Alone" - two songs I mentioned among Top 100 Tracks of 2012. I am beyond myself just imagining what the future may reveal for this highly intriguing act.

I can't fully grasp or explain my feelings for these 3 astonishingly intriguing minutes of music... Lying somewhere between Angelo Badalamenti's atmospheric production, David Bowie's hypnotic vocals and the enigma of Colder with a whole bunch of additional unclassifiable elements, this sombre piece of Danish electronica left me stunned about an hour ago... The opening track from the latest installment in the superb series of compilations that is "Sound of Copenhagen". All I know about this mysterious artist is what I've learned from his Soundcloud so far. His name is Thomas Gaist. He's based in Odense, Denmark. "Blue Bird" - a goosebump-causing late night masterpiece...

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE PRESENTS... "SLEEP ALONE" - Rosemary [Video Premiere] + "FRIENDS"

This Danish/Iranian duo named Rosemary lies somewhere between the soundscapes of Fever Ray, The Knife, Det Lilla Extra and Grimes. I have been praising "Sleep Alone" already back in 2011 but the band has just released a fascinatingly tense video for it this week. Their self-released debut EP "A Persian Tale" has more magical moments, check out the promo film below and download the entire EP generously given away for free on Rosemary's official website.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "TIME TO MOVE" - Carmen /// "SOMETIMES (12'' Groove Version)" - Vindahl

I have a delicious 1984 R'N'B niche single by a girl named Carmen for you this evening. The tune was popularised in recent years by the Chromeo boys who included this true gem on their "Dj-Kicks" compilation. The track in its full 6 minutes glory comes as a sonic orgasm for those who dig rare grooves as much as me. The second track was released in Denmark last year and it's entirely based on Carmen's almost edible in its beauty sample. Funk multiplied by two. Do Ya Wanna Get Funky?
