SHREM'S WORLDLY DELIGHTS: "Taki Rari" - Yma Sumac + "Estaba Escrito" - Monna Bell

I've got two delicious vintage Latin recordings for you today. First up it's the legendary Peruvian soprano Yma Sumac and her exotic take-on mambo with "Taki Rari". Following this sonic otherworldliness we have a Chilean queen of merengue Miss Monna Bell and her "Estaba Escrito" a song maestro Pedro Almodovar used for his feature debut "Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón".

I have two sublime pieces from the never-ending resources of quality Brazilian music for you today. No other country had such an instantly recognisable, distinctive and unique sound back in the 60's and 70's. These two ladies sound gorgeous back to back. SHREM'S VINTAGE CORNER: "Na drugim brzegu tęczy" - Breakout

This was always my mum's favourite band, their gritty sound was quite innovative and alternative in comparison with Polish mainstream music back in the 1960's. Mira Kubasińska remained for years one of the most charismatic and uncompromised Polish female vocalists. The sax intro is to die for... What a timeless gem...
