SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING: "BAD DANCER" - Yoko Ono & Plastic Ono Band

"Bad Dancer" put a huge smile on my face when I saw it first on Monday. Yoko Ono's latest video is a 3 minute long feast of all things berserk, cacophonic and absurd with an impressive array of special guests including Roberta Flack, Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda, Reggie Watts, ?uestlove, Justin Vivian Bond, Ad Rock & Mike D from Beastie Boys, Greg Saunier, Heems and more! It's also probably Ono's best single since "Walking On Thin Ice". When your heart is dancing, your mind is bouncing. Bounce, bounce, bounce, BOUNCE!

SHREM'S LIST OBSESSION: Top 10 Favourite Basement Jaxx Collaborations

We're still over one month away from the release of Basement Jaxx's excellent single with Sam Brookes "What A Difference Your Love Makes". I couldn't hide my euphoria about this ludicrously good song claiming it the other day to be Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe's best single in over a decade. This unusual and unexpected joint effort between the London duo and Tim Buckley and Nick Drake influenced folk singer made me go through all of Basement Jaxx's back catalogue in search of their most fruitful, surprising and dazzling collaborations to date. And so I came up with this brand new list of mine:

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "BELLA PUPA" - Kora & Püdelsi /// "WALKING ON THIN ICE (Felix da Housecat's Tribute Mix)" - Yoko Ono

Kora was our very own Siouxsie Sioux in Poland. Her cult status as a front-woman of Maanam, most charismatic of all punk & rock bands back in the 80's, was undeniable. In 1988 Kora teamed up with Püdelsi to release their explicit, uncompromising, noisy collaborative album "Bella Pupa". The title track resembles some of Yoko Ono's vocal tricks and post punk production. What a smashing occasion to play Ono's "Walking on Thin Ice" in Felix da Housecat's 'dancefloor-ready' mix I was totally hooked by back in 2003. Such a juicy pair, let's get this disco punk party started!

175 - GIRL LIKE YOU - Bertine Zetlitz - when one of my favourite producers of all time Richard X spread his magic for the first time on this hugely successful single in Bertine's homeland - Norway



174 - TWERK - Basement Jaxx Feat. Yo Majesty! - NOTE!: it's the very original 12" version not the latter SCARS album version of the song, a dancefloor stomper big time!

173 - RUBY BLUE - Róisín Murphy - well needles 2 say there will be plenty of La Murphy moments in my countdown as she was indisputably the most important artiste of the decade in my private ranking, RUBY BLUE was initially released on the first of three "Sequins" 12" singles and became the title track of Róisín's first solo album, the nu jazz masterpiece produced by the scarily talented Matthew Herbert
