SHREM'S LIST OBSESSION: "OVERTIME" + Top 15 Jessie Ware Club Diva Moments

The arrival of Jessie Ware's surprising new single "Overtime", the irresistibly anthemic, Bicep-produced club belter, inspired me to revisit this lesser-known side to the soul singer's repertoire. One of Britain's finest vocalists, Ware is prone to a sonic excursion into a more electronica-oriented territory. Through uptempo singles, classic remixes and stimulating collaborations, Jessie Ware spices up her impressive catalogue with club sounds, masterly balancing between UK Garage, various incarnations of house music, urban beats and drum'n'bass...

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS: "FOR YOU" [feat. Shola Ama] + "PANDORA'S BOX" [with Toddla T] - Roses Gabor

I have been waiting impatiently for some new material from Roses Gabor since her 2 solo tracks "Stars" and "Night Sky" took my year-end chart by storm back in 2012. Gabor's latest effort is a luscious collaboration with another UK Garage diva Shola Ama. The result of their work together is astonishing, the kind of contemporary (or even futuristic?) R&B sound I adore the most these days.

And while we're at it, is this sensational collaboration with Toddla T ever going to be properly released? Seriously one of the best dance tracks of the past few months...

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "ALIVE" - Todda T feat. Shola Ama + Sticky Remix

Toddla T's fruitful collaboration with Shola Ama brings out another anthem-about-to-happen. The pair responsible for one of this year's biggest summer festival anthems - "Take It Back", return with a song that shapes to even surpass its predecessor. "Alive" is an instant garage classic. Shola Ama proves again that the UK Funky scene is where she's at her most comfortable and with her legacy of UK Garage anthems she was involved in so far, one could easily crown her (alongside Ms. Dynamite) as the genre's first lady. In addition Fact Magazine has just published this juicy mix by Sticky which combines delicate drum'n'bass-esque beats with the anthemic oldskool house loops to an astonishing summer dancefloor-ready effect. The single's out on 13th August via Ninja Tune. CHOON!

SHREM'S 2011 COUNTDOWN OF CHOONS - 30-21

30 "Boadicea" - Mason feat. Róisín Murphy - while waiting (very) patiently for some more solo material, my number one muse Miss Róisín Murphy treated us to some delicious collaborations this year and apparently there's more to come in 2012, I was humming this one away for months!

29 "Call Your Girlfriend" - Robyn - as much as I worshipped Robyn's "Body Talk" last year this was never my favourite track on her spectacular triptych in 2010... It wasn't until this video... Eternally in love with this pure pop perfection of a gem now!

28 "My Friends Will Always Say..." - FaltyDL - UK Garage made in US with a haunting vocal sample which sounds like taken from some lost Lauryn Hill song... The year 2011 the year when I re-fell in love with 2-step...

27 "Cherry Picking" - Toddla T feat. Róisín Murphy - La Murphy goes all rough urban & dirty for Mr T's album - effortlessly the best song of the whole set!

26 "Abracadabra" - Brown Eyed Girls - there's no year without at least one cheesy K-POP anthem ha? Still one of the most viewed videos on my blog one of the catchiest choruses I heard all year!

25 "Calling Out" - Midnight Magic - I can't praise Midnight Magic enough! Their very special take on disco is so fresh and funky, every single track they released this year was excellent plus Tiffany Roth was my number 1 female vocalist of the year by a long mile!

24 "Deep Inside" - Gus Gus - and the Icelandic saga continues...

23 "In The Heat" - Jessica 6 - I'd absolutely love if Nomi Ruiz & co decided to release this as their next single, such a groovy tune
IN THE HEAT by Peacefrog Records

22 "212" - Azealia Banks feat. Lazy J - so new and already timeless! I have welcome the 2012 dancing my socks off to it at midnight yesterday!

21 "Lola (Ging Danga)" - Maluca + The Partysquad - Dominican answer to M.I.A. scored a top 50 track on my end of the year ranking second year running, modern rave anthem latino style!

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: "TAKE IT BACK" - Toddla T feat. Shola Ama & J2K

And so the video for Toddla T's super-catchy "Take It Back" has finally arrived. Even Shola Ama herself made an appearance. While Ninja Tune keeps us up to date with Toddla T's news, I can't particularly wait for "Cherry Picking" with Róisín Murphy, so far available on a well sought after strictly limited 12".
