UK Garage sounds seem to be making the most prolific come back to the dancefloors of Europe gaining quite significant commercial success as well. I consider Disclosure's phenomenal single with AlunaGeorge "White Noise" scoring #2 on UK Chart last week the sign of a new era. Queenie's instantly captivating "And Every" will most certainly follow the stream of recent massive garage anthems by the likes of Disclosure, T. Williams or Mosca. 36 "Selfoss" - Gus Gus - icicle electronica, Nordic soundscapes with an accordion solo - a momentous opening to this year's best album: "Arabian Horse", a pompous piece in the most subtle and sublime way possible... GENIUS!


35 "Thunderbolt" - Björk - from my very first interaction with Björk's futuristic and spellbinding "Biophilia" I knew this was one of the stand-out tracks on her uncompromising 7th studio album

CHOONS OF THE DAY: "PHARAOHS" - SBTRKT feat. Roses Gabor + "INTO YOU (French Fries Remix)" - Greenmoney feat. Roses Gabor

If it was up to me, this year's Mercury Prize Award would go to SBTRKT. After the much loved "Wildfire" with Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano on vocals we have another single and another video from that excellent LP. "Pharaohs" was a stand-out track from the album from the very first listen. Roses Gabor, who recently stole my heart collaborating with Greenmoney on "Into You" (check out French Fries' delectable remix below), provides yet another smashing vocals. She might quite effortlessly become UK Funky's newly crowned queen. Top tune!
