Brooklyn nu disco ensemble Escort return with "Body Talk" - possibly their most accomplished single since the inescapable groove "Love In Indigo" saw the light of day back in 2006. It's hard to believe 2016 will mark 10 years for Escort but before that we will be receiving the disco revivalists' 2nd studio album "Animal Nature".  The record opens with the magnificent "Body Talk" and includes one of the band's most cherished past singles "Barbarians", the title track described by them as an "homage to all the great dark and sultry disco classics" as well as a whole fruitful bunch of remixes and re-edits by the likes of Morgan Geist, JKriv, Little Boots and Tiger & Woods. The lavish production, Adeline Michèle's effortless vocals and impressively rich melody, one that could serve 3 separate songs, makes "Body Talk" an instant classic.

New York disco troopers, the mighty Escort fronted by the charismatic Adeline Michèle are back with another delightful gem "If You Say So", their first new material since their self-titled debut album back in 2011. Collaborating with MNDR they delivered a sublime, elegantly produced song with that irresistible, genuine retro flavour, a signature element to all Escort's singles so far. I am craving even more of that discoliciousness now. Here's to album #2 soon!

SHREM'S LIST OBSESSION: Top 10 Most Discolicious Anthems by Escort

Inspired by Escort's upcoming Irish live debut this Sunday in The Twisted Pepper organised by the ever-reliable Bodytonic crew, I decided to dedicate one my lists entirely to this magical 17-piece disco ensemble from Brooklyn. Escort has been electrifying me with their genre-reviving modern disco anthems since the release of their debut single "Starlight" back in 2006, now fronted by the charismatic Adeline Michèle, the multi vibrant troupe is bringing their energetic show to Ireland for the very first time, following other European dates this week in London and Rennes. SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "BARBARIANS" - Escort

There are only two bands on earth right now that managed to successfully transport that sweet hedonistic sound of 1970's disco and funk to today. One is Midnight Magic. The other one is Brooklyn's 17-piece ensemble Escort fronted by the soulstress Adeline Michèle. This NYC crew has been hypnotising us with their very first disco revisiting phenomenal singles "Starlight" and "Love in Indigo" back in 2006. "Barbarians" (out June 25 via Escort Records) is yet another instantly anthemic moment in Escort's multi-colourful catalogue of retro flavoured tunes. Stand up, stand up!!!

I've got two sensational live tracks by two biggest heroes on the disco reinventing scene at the moment. I have been continuously praising both Midnight Magic and Escort for the past few years. They're both based in Brooklyn. They both had an astonishing run of excellent singles and EP's. They are both blessed to feature two incredibly talented and charismatic female vocalists: Tiffany Roth and Adeline Michèle. Finally, both bands are about to drop their brand new albums. Midnight Magic's debut album "Walking The Midnight Streets" is definitely the most anticipated record in 2012 in my books, roll on 14th November! "Same Way I Feel" serves as a very delicious appetiser before we get to indulge in the whole record. Huge expectations! "As for the fabulous Escort, this 17 piece disco orchestra is about to treat us to a vibrant collection of remixes from their self-titled first album, with mixes from Greg Wilson, JKriv, Max Essa and Ewan Pearson among others. Here they are covering Gino Soccio's cult record "Dancer" in a rather spectacular way. This will be such a discolicious winter time!

SHREM'S INSTITUTE OF LOST CLASSICS: "LOVE IN INDIGO" - Escort

One of the greatest disco records from the post-disco era. It's hard to believe this single was out in 2006. The 17-piece Escort, "Brooklyn's finest disco orchestra", have announced their plans to release their debut full lenght album after a stream of sensational 12" records like "All Through The Night" or "Cocaine Blues ".This song though, stands next to Sylvester's "Do Ya Wanna Funk?" and Chic's "Everybody Dance" among my all time favourite disco records. Epic tune!!!
