SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "GOTASOUL" - Azari feat. James Baley

Dinamo Azari aka Azari from the prominent Canadian ensemble AZARI & III (who scored Track of the Year here for 2 consecutive years with "Reckless (With Your Love)" in 2010 and "Manic" in 2011) is back with a solo project heralded by one of the most addictive club tracks we've heard thus far in 2018. The pulsating "Gotasoul", featuring the electrifying vocals of James Baley, is an acid-house flavoured excursion into underground house clubs dripping with raw energy, sonic hedonism, mystery and sensuality. An immediate anthem which leaves me gasping for Azari's full album scheduled to drop later on this year.

The official press release describes Azari's new project most accurately:

"This project is a reaction to perfection and predictability, a reminder that you don’t have to fit in to function. It’s a return to the raw, expressive and rule breaking days of punk and acid house. It embodies forward thinking music, art and visuals that have the power to incite shock and awe. It’s for a generation that looks beyond labels. It’s a project that places equal power with all genders, sexualities and races, and draws in outsiders at odds with the world’s current categories."

"Gotasoul" is out on 3rd August via Get Physical.

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "64 WAYS" - Detroit Swindle feat. Mayer Hawthorne

Detroit Swindle's debut album "Boxed Out" is out now via Dirt Crew Recordings. Here's some more background to this fruitful and dancefloor-ready collaboration. "The one thing Detroit Swindle are known for best is their knack for picking the right vocals. For Boxed Out, they came up with some perfect partnerships. They recorded "64 Ways" with none other than one of America's finest soul singers: Mayer Hawthorne. Being a fan of their sound he proposed to do a track together in return for a remix on one of his album originals to be released in 2014. "64 Ways" has a lazy shuffle, a bunch of catchy rhodes chords and few well placed layers of synths that give this track a hint of "Detroit Experiment", wrapped up in an almost poppy house jam." Preview the whole record at the bottom of this post.

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: MY HOUSE - Hercules & Love Affair

I've been patiently checking youtube and other music sources every single day since I heard "My House" for the very first time back in December, hoping for the video to finally arrive. Well what can I say, if there ever was a fitting reward for anticipating something so much is this video. And you are so right Mr Czarnecki this video is me!!!!! What a purely brilliant concept, flamboyant, camp and sooooo late 1980's-house-anthems just like the song. SHREM LOVES LOVES LOVES NEW HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR!!!

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: CREATURE - Kim Ann Foxman

I don't wanna go for too long ranting about how appalled I am at the state of so called house music that's tragically invading charts at the moment and destroying the good name of my beloved dance genre having nothing really in common with it (David f***ing Guetta anyone?)... Well I am extremely appalled and disgusted though... Anyhow just feeling nostalgic over house music's gold moments like this or this... Thank goddess we have a whole new generation of very promising house music retro-innovators ;-) Munk, Juan Maclean, Cubic Zirconia, the ultra-cool Azari & III or Hercules & Love Affair to name just a few. Kim Ann Foxman from the Hercules team has just released her brand new solo single. And it's a delicious effort! Let there be house!!!

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: INTO THE NIGHT - Azari & III

This year's most prolific remixing duo Azari & III, generously provided juicy mixes for many up and coming dance & electronica acts this year: Friendly Fires, Le Le, CFCF, Mano Le Tough, Munk and Uffie to name just a few. Dinamo Azari & Alixander III are about to release their brand new house anthem, which follows the phenomenal "RECKLESS" to be one of this year's essential dance records.
