SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS: "SHARPNESS" + "MESSAGE" - Jamie Woon

I'm sure you must have noticed by now that I fall for male vocals rather rarely but when I came across Jamie Woon and his velvet voice for the very first time, discovering "Night Air" and "Lady Luck" back in 2011, it was sort of a revelation. Serenading his electronic soul tales, Woon's impeccable productions lie somewhere between James Blake, SOHN and Jamie Lidell. "Sharpness" is a delectable slice of neo-soul setting the tone smoothly for the London singer's second album "Making Time" set to be released 6th November 2015 via Polydor. The understated "Message" works up an appetite for this evident musical feast even more. You wouldn't be exaggerating calling Jamie Woon a crooner of a modern era, with his impressive vocal capabilities and subtly oldfashioned melodies with a contemporary twist. This autumn season is shaping up to be truly elegant and memorable.

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: "GRAB HER!" + "VOICES" [feat. Sasha Keable] + "JANUARY (Kaytranada Remix)" [feat. Jamie Woon] - Disclosure

So Disclosure have just released 7th video from their gargantuan debut album "The Settle". They've also just been deservedly nominated for 4 Brit Awards and celebrate the immensely impressive year they had with an expanded and action packed re-edition of their Mercury Prize nominated record. Now if we could just get one more video for that sensational track with Jessie Ware I would be fully content. Here's "Grab Her!", "Voices" featuring Sasha Keable which I forgot to share with you in the middle of the whole December madness of year-end rankings and Kaytranada's summery mix of Disclosure's joint effort with the velvet-voiced Jamie Woon "January".

SHREM'S 2011 COUNTDOWN OF CHOONS - 60-51

60 "Little Man" - Little Dragon - 3rd and final track by the multi-talented Swedes in my chart, Miss Yukimi still my number 1 girl crush after all these years...

59 "Fun Girl" - Jessica 6 - it really was a sensational year for Miss Nomi Ruiz, her collaborations with Eli Escobar and Beni, her style, her dj-sets and above all Jessica 6's debut album filled with true gems like this one:

58 "Someone's Watching Me" - Midnight Magic - Tiffany Roth recorded some of the most spectacular and discolicious vocals in 2011! From "What The Eyes Can't See" aka the nu-disco EP of the year!

57 "Lointain" - Popular Computer - French Touch at its freshest, from Monsieur Ordinateur's (as I call him) brand new EP packed with anthemic mixes, can't wait for the whole album to drop!
Popular Computer - Lointain by popularcomputer

56 "White Elephant" - Ladytron - it's hard to believe this Liverpool based quartet managed to release their 5th album in a row without any disappointments... Reliable for over a decade now and this isn't the highest peaking track from "Gravity The Seducer" yet...

55 "No Limit (Nathan G Deeper Vocal Mix)" - Nathan G & Blackfrog feat. Byron Stingily - one of the juiciest house tracks of the past few years, missed out on it completely in 2010 here it is in my ranking of 2011 instead... My rules are quite adjustable and flexible as you can see. Mr Byron-Come-On-Get-Up-Everybody-Stingily delivers delicious vocals too!
54 "Vanguardian" - Steed Lord - what a year for Icelandic music, Gus Gus, Steed Lord and Björk share 10% of the entire chart!

53 "Temperature Rising" - Brenmar - An extremely tempting invitation to dance with this 2-step/garage/uk funky + house potion of pure dancefloor heaven. Temperature rising indeed.

52 "Lady Luck" - Jamie Woon - quite simply the most beautiful male voice I've heard this year... And don't get me started on Woon's superiority over the much over-rated James Blake!

51 "Can't Shake This Feeling (Grum Club Mix)" - Grum - no one does cheesy 80's sounds nowadays as convincingly as team Grum, it's uncanny!
