SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING: "BROOKLYN GIRL" + "ENIGMATIC" - Cola & Jimmu [Nicole Willis & Jimi Tenor]

I first discovered Jimi Tenor, Finland's prime ambassador of electronica and now also afro-beat and jazz, back in 1997 with the release of his 3rd solo album "Intervision" via Warp. That's also when I fell in love with "Can't Stay With You Baby" - one of my all-time favourite tracks. I first discovered Tenor's talented wife Nicole Willis when she dropped her fantastic vintage soul inspired record with The Soul Investigators back in 2006. Now the multi-gifted pair return with a collaborative album "Enigmatic" under the alias Cola & Jimmu out on 10th May. Both songs available already ooze sonic brilliance and suggest a full-on underground oldskool house extravaganza. I have high hopes for this one...

CHOON OF THE DAY: "THE MAN" - Omar + Maddslinky Remix

I may have 100 favourite female vocalists out there but there's only a very small bunch of the male ones I adore to the same extent. Mr Omar Lye-Fook has had a solid spot among the male singers I worship the most for way over two decades at this stage. His latest offer, the groovy slice of jazzy soul "The Man" has just been released via Freestyle Records. "2013 marks 10 years since Freestyle Records began, and we are immensely proud to announce that our tenth anniversary will see the release of brand new music by one of the most creative, well respected, world renowned UK soul artists: Omar" we read on the label's website. The single comes with a rather spectacular remix by Maddslinky. No-one needs to be persuaded to appreciate the Omar/Zed Bias combo after their sensational collaboration "Dancing" which I chose as one of Top 10 Best Tracks in 2011. They team-up again for the club version of "The Man". Sonic deliciousness!

SHREM'S LIST OBSESSION: Top 10 Favourite Annie Tracks + "Tube Stops And Lonely Hearts"

The Norwegian saviour of the European pop scene, music critics' #1 darling and possibly this week's most talked about artist in the whole blogosphere, Annie is back with her very long anticipated single "Tube Stops and Lonely Hearts" which some already claim to be her best song to date. This synth-pop jewel is Annie's emotional tribute to the rave culture in the early 1990's. "Tube Stops and Lonely Hearts" is a danceable diary entry from a few amazing raves in London + an old industrial harbour venue in Bergen, Norway: the former sardine factory "Verftet" - and the giantesque garage "Teatergarasjen". Bergen princess now has a brand new Facebook page, fresh website and is promising more treats in the upcoming months including her collaboration with Ralph Myerz "Take a Look at the World" co-produced by Röyksopp soon to be available also outside of Norway. Here's "Tube Stops and Lonely Hearts" which is out today, followed by a very subjective selection of top 10 Annie tracks I cherish the most. Just adding some more love to this buzzy Annie themed week from my carousel too. After all I've been a devoted fan since the first time I heard that stupendous Madonna-sampling "The Greatest Hit" all the way back in 1999...

10 "ALL NIGHT"

Annie - All Night by Beano Regenhaut

09 "MARIE-CHERIE"
