SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "HUMANITARIANISM" - Zeigeist + The Twelves Remix
Such a pity this once promising Swedish act was disbanded in 2009... What we have left is a bunch of excellent electro pop singles and a few colourful remixes of which the one below by the mighty Brazilians from The Twelves is by far the most memorable one.

SHREM'S ACADEMY OF ALL TIME BEST SINGLES: DREAM COME TRUE - Brand New Heavies feat. N'Dea Davenport
It once was all about two acts in the British urban and dance scene, Soul II Soul and Brand New Heavies. Here's one of the latter one's first singles which sounds as juicy today as it did back in 1990. BNH always delivered irresistible beats, funky production and an ever-changing palette of amazing vocalists (Carleen Anderson, Siedah Garrett, Nicole Russo & N'Dea Davenport to name just a few) being in the same time one of the most prolific pioneers of the acid jazz movement. Play that funky music!

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: BAD GAL - Savage Skulls & Douster feat. Robyn
2010 belonged to Robyn. Big time. It's 2011 but Sweden's most precious of all POP treasures is as we all know at this stage unstoppable and indestructible. Here's a brand new quirky video she has just released of her i-tunes-special collaboration with Savage Skulls and Douster. The "Blue Monday" intro is uncanny ;-)

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING "F*** WORK" by Cubic Zirconia + Dâm-Funk Remix
I have been praising this breakthrough act here three times already: 1 2 3 I thought it would be a great time to play their 2009 debut single (along with a rather yummy version baked by the ultra-talented Mr Dâm-Funk ) while waiting for their first LP which is finally beginning to see daylight... What an inspiring collective of rare talents Cubic Zirconia are...

CHOON OF THE DAY: DAYS - Creep + Azari & III Remix
I have actually heard the remix by the mighty Azari & III a.k.a. "the indestructible kings of the dancefloor" (posted below the video) first before I heard the actual original version of this hypnotic track. Now we also have this enigmatic music video too. Some critics predict Creep to be one of the biggest newcomers in 2011. Time will tell...

CHOON OF THE DAY: KEEP ME IN MY PLANE - WhoMadeWho
Despite being quite fond of some tracks on WhoMadeWho's debit album a good few years ago ("I Love", "Rose"...) I didn't really follow this Danish trio's career at all... I came across this fantastic video over the w/end and thought I'd share it with everyone who sadly missed out on "Keep me in my plane" like me, when it was intially released back in 2009...

SHREM'S WORLDLY DELIGHTS: "TALAAGH" - Googoosh گوگوش طلاق
This persian song has been haunting me for a few weeks now. Such an exquisite and exotic combination of 1970's funk production, oriental strings arrangements, melodic harmony of Farsi language and "goosebumps-causing" voice of the most celebrated artist in Iran of the 60's and 70's... Hypnotic, dark and mesmerising. Try it for yourself...

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: GETTING NOWHERE - Magnetic Man feat. John Legend
The ever so developing UK Garage scene has scored another dance anthem-in-the-making with this haunting collaboration between Magnetic Man and John Legend.
Here's a preview of all the remixes of the track. The Yoruba mix is sooo tasty!

SHREM'S ACADEMY OF ALL TIME BEST SINGLES: LOOKING FOR A NEW LOVE - Jody Watley
Thinking of compiling a brand new top 200 ranking, this time completely dedicated to the mighty 1980's... All I know for now is that this groovy single along with another smashing Jody Watley's hit, will most definitely end up quite high on the list. Watch this space and for now Hasta la vista, baby...

CHOON OF THE DAY: TRUE FALSE / FAKE REAL - Hercules and Love Affair
It's been a while I was anticipating a new album to that extent. Roll on 28th January and Irish premiere of Hercules & Love Affair's second outing. Judging by the first single "MY HOUSE" it will be epic! Here's one of the gems from their previous effort. Delightful!

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "YOU CAN DANCE" - Chilly Gonzales
Chilly Gonzales' brand new single reminds me a little of Breakbot's take on Kavinsky's latest effort last year... Cheerful and groovy. It's all about talented Canadians these days isn't it?
CHOON OF THE DAY: GIMME THAT PUNK! - Audio Bullys
Audio Bullys have always been balancing between trash and quality sounds. Apart from their promising debut single "We Don't Care", back in 2002, this song is quite possibly their best work to date. Irresistible beat! G-I-M-M-E---T-H-A-T---P-U-N-K---!

CHOON OF THE DAY: LET'S GO - FCL
I simply adore all the music shenanigans in January every single year... On one hand desperately seeking brand new thrilling first releases of the New Year, on the other hand finding about all that I missed out on throughout the whole past season... And here's one of those lost classics from 2010... One of the juiciest house tracks I heard in years! Delicious! Number 12 at Juno's top 50 of the finest dance records in 2010. CHOON!

CHOON OF THE DAY: SPEECHLESS - Mish Mash
Gone are the days when Ministry of Sounds were releasing anthemic dance singles, unfortunately... It's all mainstream, predictable, commercial blah second category of dance music... Well I suppose this isn't so much of an exception on the commerciality level anyway... However 5 years since its initial release it still puts a smile on my face :-)
CHOON OF THE DAY: SALTY AIR - J.Viewz feat Noa Lembersky
Somehow I have missed out on this video throughout the whole 2010 even though I was praising it since July... It's one of those songs that's so richly layered with soundtracks it's almost liquid...
