SHREM'S INSTITUTE OF LOST CLASSICS: 1000 DREAMS - Miss Kittin and The Hacker

"TWO" was everything and more we were all hoping for from Miss Kittin & The Hacker's follow-up to their cult debut album. This video always makes me feel a bit nostalgic as my dad's reel-to-reel was where my passion for music all began...

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: I WROTE THE BOOK - Beth Ditto

Scroll down to number 62 on my list of top 200 best songs of the last decade to see how it all started... The wizards of electronica Simian Mobile Disco have just teamed up again with this planet's coolest of all female vocalists, Gossip's Beth Ditto to an enormously fabulous effect. Deconstruction released La Ditto's solo "EP" yesterday exclusively via Beatport. 4 solid, fiercely melodic and stunningly produced songs, the very first epic thing to happen in music in 2011. I tend to get quite pompous when it comes to music, but just like back in 2008 when I heard Hercules & Love Affair's "Blind" for the very first time, having claimed it to be the song of the year even though it was only January, I have the exact euphoric feeling about this one particular song below...

I wrote the book by Deconstruction Records

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "YO-YO" - Fujiya & Miyagi

I don't exactly know how but Fujiya & Miyagi's brand new single lies somewhere between Ladytron, M83 and Midnight Juggernauts in my ears... I adore the artwork of the new album too!

SHREM'S GUILTIEST OF PLEASURES... VOL.17 "Wee Rule" - The Wee Papa Girl Rappers

There are guilty pleasures, guiltier ones and the guiltiest... This tacky little number from 1988 definitely falls into the very last category ;-)I remember very vividly listening to it for the first time jumping around my room in the age of 10 ;-)

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING "THE ONE" by RonKat Spearman's Katdelic

The tune seems to be so low-key and obscure that I can't even chase any decent picture down to accompany this post. Both the track as well as the flamboyant video are so good I will disobey my own rule and post it anyway... I found it on the one and only deeevine Lady Miss Kier Kirby's always surprising and never disappointing tumblr...
