CHOON OF THE DAY: "BELISPEAK" - Purity Ring

Purity Ring are one of the latest addition to the incredible family of 4AD. The record label responsible for releasing music by some of my favourite bands in the past (Cocteau Twins, Gus Gus, Stereolab) is now home for the innovative sounds of Grimes, Gang Gang Band, Twin Shadow and now also Purity Ring. The latter one blew me away with this mesmerising piece of electronica last year, now available with this enigmatic video announcing their debut album set for release in 2 weeks time! Yet another cutting-edge act from the epicentre of all sounds cool - Canada.

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING: "HER FANTASY" - Matthew Dear + Tornado Wallace Remix

Matthew Dear's "Asa Breed" still stands among my favourite electronica albums of all time. None of his material since that epic record came anywhere close its pure brilliance. None until the arrival of his latest single "Her Fantasy" which quite simply is a magnificent piece of music.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "FINALLY" - Niewinni Czarodzieje feat. Novika /// "MUCHOMORY" - Maria Peszek

Last week I had an ultimate pleasure to participate in selecting some tracks for Tom Lowe's Audio Sunshine Show's special edition, entirely dedicated to the music of my homeland, Poland. It's been a pure fun session of cherry-picking eclectic sounds from the past 50 years in the history of Polish phonography. The result of it is a 2 hours long journey through Polish jazz, hip-hop and house with a bunch of nu jazz, klezmer and pure oddities thrown in for the good measure. You can listen to the show for free for the next month on RTE Pulse. If you're looking for the playlist head to Tom's Facebook. I was particularly delighted to see two following tunes making the final cut of the show. Enjoy:

SHREM'S WORLDLY DELIGHTS: "Taki Rari" - Yma Sumac + "Estaba Escrito" - Monna Bell

I've got two delicious vintage Latin recordings for you today. First up it's the legendary Peruvian soprano Yma Sumac and her exotic take-on mambo with "Taki Rari". Following this sonic otherworldliness we have a Chilean queen of merengue Miss Monna Bell and her "Estaba Escrito" a song maestro Pedro Almodovar used for his feature debut "Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón".
