SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "ANY KIND OF PRESSURE" - Lorenz Rhode feat. Jamie Lidell
This is just pure sonic goodness. This funk dripping collaboration between German dj Lorenz Rhode and the magnificent Jamie Lidell has just dropped via Kitsuné. An absolute and instant highlight on ther latest compilation "Kitsuné Maison Compilation #14: The Absinthe Edition" which is out this week. I posted first about Herr Lorenz Rhode back in February 2011 when I came across his retro-delicious mix for Cassian. Amazingly it's when my fellow-blogger Piotrek from nosnobsallowed predicted this to happen saying "This is how Jamie Lidell's next album should sound"! "Any Kind of Pressure" will be from now on turning any autumn gloominess into a blissful summer moment immediately.

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "YOUNG HUNTING" - Ocho
I am absolutely over the moon I can finally present you with the astonishing video for what shapes to be this year's number one tune to come out of Ireland. "Young Hunting" by Ocho is a sophisticated mixture of mesmerising electronica, 'goosebumps causing' intricate production, and the hypnotising vocals of the charismatic Stace Gill. All the above was given a moody trip-hop treatment too which only adds to its exceptional value. I've had this song on repeat for months at this stage, falling more and more for its ethereal beauty, so glad it'll get its well deserved further attention now with this superb video. Ireland's finest!

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "LEAVING" /// "BEING BORING" - Pet Shop Boys
Pet Shop Boys' latest single "Leaving" is a wonderful piece of elegant unassuming pop, the type one can hardly ever find anymore these over-produced days... This song is also a great chance to reminisce about those better times for pop music. Here's their irresistible 1990 hit "Being Boring" too which many consider to be Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe's best song to date.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "JANET (HE DOESN'T KNOW I'M ALIVE)" - New Look /// "HE DOESN'T KNOW I'M ALIVE" - Janet Jackson
New Look's Sarah Ruba in her elegant hommage to Janet Jackson is simply sensational. Such a fantastic choice for a cover considering it's one of very few songs taken from Miss Jackson's eponymous "Control" which has never been released as a single. This should keep us going until we receive more news about the Canadian duo's brand new album. Über Cool!
