THE DECADE IN SONGS 180 - 171

and so the story of THE NOUGHTIES continues...

180 - EURODANS - Todd Terje - it's like sonic holidays with palms, beaches, turquoise sea and colourful cocktails with umbrellas;-)

179 - HYPH MNGO - Joy Orbison - the most danceable piece of dubstep ever created, hypnotic!

178 - SLOW - Kylie Minogue - using "Poor F***ers" in her lyrics might as well b as scandalous as Kylie would ever go, but I can't deny it is that one song Madonna is probably still jealous of... Such a saucy video too...

177 - DAY OF THE SUNFLOWERS (WE MARCH ON) - Basement Jaxx Feat. Yoko Ono - the album edit is ace, this on the other hand is a tv performance chez Jools Holland with Yoko's hilarious timing, ah bless...

176 - CASCADES OF COLOUR - The Ananda Project Feat. Gaelle - certain Tracey Thorn would totally agree with me on the brilliance of this deep house anthem

175 - GIRL LIKE YOU - Bertine Zetlitz - when one of my favourite producers of all time Richard X spread his magic for the first time on this hugely successful single in Bertine's homeland - Norway

174 - TWERK - Basement Jaxx Feat. Yo Majesty! - NOTE!: it's the very original 12" version not the latter SCARS album version of the song, a dancefloor stomper big time!

173 - RUBY BLUE - Róisín Murphy - well needles 2 say there will be plenty of La Murphy moments in my countdown as she was indisputably the most important artiste of the decade in my private ranking, RUBY BLUE was initially released on the first of three "Sequins" 12" singles and became the title track of Róisín's first solo album, the nu jazz masterpiece produced by the scarily talented Matthew Herbert

172 - GET UR FREAK ON - Missy Elliott

171 - PWSteal.Ldpinch.D - Aphex Twin - Richard D. James = GENIUS

the next 10 of the list should be up again 2morrow... X

SHREM'S INSTITUTE OF LOST CLASSICS PRESENTS...

HUNK OF HEAVEN by Lemuria

Uplifting 1970's soul track by an obscure Hawaiian trio. Puts an instant smile on your face. Just ignore the rather cheesy piano intro and then let the sunshine in your ♥...

THE DECADE IN SONGS 190 - 181

190 - POLEPIONY - Fisz - does an exception always confirm the rule? If so this excellent (both lyrically as well as musically) Polish hip-hop track confirms the overall rule of Polish hip-hop scene being rather embarrasingly poor... Awww sweet Krakow memories...

189 - LA CHANSON DE SATIE - Arhur H Feat. Feist - look @ the cute animation inspired by the song:

188 - COOL ALPINE - Niobe - eccentric chanteuse aus Deutschland and her deliciously funky unconventional dancefloor filler 4 all the intellectual geeks in da house:-)

187 - WHERE ARE YOU - Moonflowers

186 - AMPHIBIAN - Björk - mesmerising soundtrack 2 BEING JOHN MALKOVICH's end credits, mysterious, complex & utterly delicate

185 - STREET LULLABY (HERBERT'S GUTTER DUB) - Two Banks Of Four -

184 - VOODOO - Chungking - from the 3xP club = PURE POP PERFECTION, why oh why this has never been massive? Even remix by the mighty Hot Chip didn't help... Well I know it by heart anyways:-)

183 - 1 THING - Amerie - The R'N'B anthem suitable 4 even the biggest enemies of the genre

182 - FEELINGS HAVE CHANGED - The New Sins - shout-outs go 2 Jaysin in the street art capital of New Zealand - Wellington, I am still totally hooked by this number, and Adrian was right it does sound like Bananarama @ their best a wee bit, perhaps slightly updated 4 the new decade ha ha ha

181 - MULTIPLY - Jamie Lidell

Over the next while, apart from sharing new tracks & dusting off forgotten oldies but goodies, I'll be presenting u with a precisely selected top 200 of my most wonderful sonic memories of the past decade. It took me over one month time to come up with the final ranking. "The Noughties" from a rather subjective perspective of mine but who knows u might come across some real treasure while browsing. Some of it is art some of it is pure tack. This is how my heart sang the past ten years...

197 - ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL - Ilya - bizarre and alluring, a true rarity when a b-side happens 2 be a masterpiece,
