Björk once said that Destiny's Child saved Pop Music. She was totally right at the time and now I am delighted "the saviours" are back! This brand new single, the first one Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams recorded together since 2005 is an absolute feast of pure pop perfection dipped in a sleek oldskool 1990's production. Next to "Bug-A-Boo", "Perfect Man" and "Lose My Breath", "Nuclear" really is one of the finest songs the band recorded in their entire career. A juicy full 10 out of 10 from me.

SHREM'S INSTITUTE OF LOST CLASSICS: "GIMME YOUR LOVE" - Aretha Franklin with James Brown + "DIAMONDS" - Herb Alpert feat. Janet Jackson
Two sensational and sadly forgotten 1980's collaborations. The Queen of Soul with The Father of Funk, Aretha Franklin and James Brown and their fantastically energetic duet "Gimme Your Love". And then the trumpet maestro Herb Alpert and Janet Jackson's hidden vocal contribution to his funk-divine "Diamonds". Both tracks - absolute gems in my books.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "STARMAN" - Sally Shapiro feat. Electric Youth
Sally Shapiro's brand new album "Somewhere Else" is scheduled for the most anticipated release 26th February via Paper Bag Records. We've already received the first teaser of the new material from the Swedish heroes of Nu-Italo Disco with "What Can I Do", a rather low-key release last November. This new track however - "Starman", a collaboration with another duo re-inventing or should I say re-constructing the 1980's - Electric Youth, lives up to all the expectations and spoils us with the same delicate, dreamy and wonderfully naïve vibe, just like previously "Moonlight Dance", "Miracle" or "I'll Be By Your Side" did.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "Rà-Àkõ-St" - Lindstrøm + Todd Terje Remix
Two Norwegian maestros Todd Terje and Lindstrøm in a collaborative mood just about to hit some festival shows together in the upcoming summer season too. The original track, taken from Lindstrøm's nu-disco odyssey "Smalhans" was, alongside the "Ęg-Gęd-Ōsis" (#63 among Top 100 Best Choons of 2012), re-edited by Terje to an astonishing and dancefloor-ready effect. A sonic match made in Scandinavian heaven.
