SHREM'S EXCLUSIVE: PERFECT PARTY PLAYLIST VOL. 14 by Wallace

I was delighted when Wallace, undeniably one of the most promising vocal talents of 2016, accepted my invite to compile a "Perfect Party Playlist" exclusively for my blog. The future soul singer behind this year's most sophisticated single - "Negroni Eyes" very kindly selected the following list of gems in spite of her busy schedule packed with gigs, festival performances and the promotion of her new singles "Raffled Roses" and "Is It You?" featuring Kraak & Smaak.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "BLESSED" - Smerz

I have been raving about Smerz's "Because" since January and now Henriette Motzfeld and Catharina Stoltenberg are back with another track - "Blessed" heralding their debut EP "Okey" which is out 14 October via Hard Up. The elusive Norwegian duo is serving their very own scrumptious cocktail of house, electronica and synth pop. "Because" is already up there with this year's most compelling releases and it now looks like the soundtrack to this autumn may be provided by this Copenhagen based pair as well.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "MOONBEAM" - Leisure

Somewhere between the modern funk of Jungle and the alt-pop of Silicon's "Personal Computer" floats this ethereal new single from Leisure. The instrumentally luscious "Moonbeam" is another teaser from the New Zealand quintet's upcoming debut album which follows a colourful stream of tremendous singles. Sonic lushness.

Norway's national treasures Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland aka Röyksopp might have just dropped the greatest Pop single of 2016! The fact this instantly appealing (and ridiculously catchy!) synth-pop jewel features another Norwegian music hero - Susanne Sundfør, motivated me to compile this very special and subjective list of Röyksopp's Greatest Collaborations to date. I have already once dedicated an entire ranking to the Scandinavian duo when I cherry picked Top 10 Best Röyksopp Remixes back in 2012.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "IT'S THE TIME" - Lulu James

One of the most unique and refined talents of the ever so vibrant UK Soul & RNB scene, Miss Lulu James, returns with a much anticipated first new solo single since the dramatic "Beautiful People". "It's The Time", a melodramatic 21st Century soul track, transfixes with its flawless melody, subtle production, understated elegance and a captivating video directed by Alicja Rymarowicz. It's so great to have Lulu James back especially that the track seems to be her best effort since the exquisite "Closer" back in 2013.

And here's "Closer" once again...
