SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS: "LOST U" - Rangleklods

"Lost u" by Rangleklods is a captivating slice of hedonistic nu disco and electronic pop made in Copenhagen. This impossibly haunting track comes from the Danish duo's latest album "Straitjacket". KCRW described Esben Andersen and Pernille Smith-Sivertsen as "a musical marriage of Robyn and Caribou" and I couldn't possibly find a more fitting description of their sound. Even though "Lost U" initially slipped under my radar back in January, it's still worth praising as the album (out now via Tambourhinoceros) is only one week old. How did I live without "Lost U" until now remains a mystery. What a song!

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "NEED SOMEONE" - Shaun J. Wright & Alinka

"Need Someone" is the latest in the awe-inspiring series of underground house singles from Chicago based Shaun J. Wright & Alinka. Twirl's 5th modern club classic in a row comes with an impressive and irresistible array of remixes courtesy of The Cucarachas, Snuff Crew and my personal favourite the one and only Miss Aérea Negrot. The original version hypnotises with its throbbing beats, the layers of Shaun J. Wright's intertwined vocal harmonies and velvet whispers and their signature immaculate production. Snuff Crew and Aérea Negrot darken the mood intriguingly, making "Need Someone" sound edgy and mysterious with their "in-your-face" remixes while The Cucarachas deliver an irresistibly dancey, discreetly acid-housey rendition of the song. This gifted pair are true saviours of house music these days and every next Twirl release from Alinka and J Wright has been such a thrill so far. Out 15th June.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "DESTINY" - Akiine

Despite the fact Color Station released Akiine's hypnotising "Destiny" back in March it was only brought to my attention today (thanks Alex!). With "Destiny" we head for an aural expedition into gritty future R&B soundscapes flavoured with hauntingly broken beats, layers of soulful and vocoder-distorted vocals and incalculable sound effects. It all has a rather powerful effect sonically, echoing some of FKA Twigs' works which is only a good thing. I am mesmerised by this new Swedish songstress.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "À BOUCHE QUE VEUX-TU (Yuksek Remix)" - Brigitte /// "SLOWLY" - Siroj feat. Ayden

We have two ultimate summer anthems on the horizon guys! First up Parisian duo Brigitte and their latest single "À Bouche Que Veux-Tu" remixed, revamped and pimped up by the indestructible Yuksek himself. This is summer scented shiny disco music, a new saturday night essential and the latest in the catalogue of French Touch anthems.

The second track comes from a Dutch producer Siroj who made me forget about that disappointingly mediocre new Disclosure single from last week almost instantly. "Slowly" is anything but and it's a UK garage banger of epic proportions that you won't get rid off that easily. Highly addictive and irresistibly catchy!

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING: "SMELL EP" - Femme En Fourrure

Finnish duo Femme En Fourrure intrigue me more and more with every next release, kaleidoscopically balancing between genres, styles and moods, they never fail to surprise. The latest offering from Juuso Malin and Sandra Tervonen is "Smell EP" consisting of 3 brand new excellent tracks with a remix by Inga Copeland. Layers of cold, crystal clear synths, distorted vocals, Fever Ray-esque vibes, broken beats and Femme en Fourrure's signature otherworldly production is what makes this EP such an exciting aural escapade. I've had "Shores" and 'Blossom" on repeat all morning.

"Smell EP" is available now on a very limited 10" clear vinyl and cassette at the Helsinkian band's official store.
