SHREM'S ACADEMY OF ALL TIME BEST SINGLES: "CHOCOLATE" + "COME INTO MY WORLD" (with Fischerspooner) - Kylie Minogue

It's Minogue time! "Chocolate" - her most refined, most elegant and most sophisticated of all videos and songs in the same time + "Come Into My World" remixed by Fischerspooner - definitely one of the most precious mixes in her entire catalogue.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "LONG DISTANCE" - Onra feat. Olivier Daysoul /// "MURPHY'S LOVE" - Cheri

I always wanted Róisín Murphy to cover "Murphy's Law" ;-) This 1982 r'n'b tune still rocks my heart. Then we have the neo soul magician Onra, who's currently working on his new material, with one of his most delectable grooves "Long Distance"... Get into the rare grooves y'all!

CHOON OF THE DAY: "Deep Inside" [Live @ Nasa] - Gus Gus

The admirably generous Gus Gus crew just offered another fantastic video from their "Arabian Horse" era launching gig @ Nasa, Reykjavík. This is another mind-blowing performance that will put all of you in a trance, especially those lucky holders of tickets to see Gus Gus live this autumn and winter.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "BORDERLINE" - Madonna /// "TIME TO LET GO (CFCF Remix)" - Sally Shapiro

La Ciccone's 1984 number 1 single vs CFCF's wonderful subtly inspired by "Borderline" remix for Sally Shapiro the most talented of all Italo Disco reinventors in the whole Scandinavia. Now isn't that a scrumptious fusion? P.S. How cool is the cover of the Japanese 7" with the "A Star is Born" note?

CHOON OF THE DAY: "MOON" - Björk

I have been a devoted fan of Björk since her very first flirt with electronic sounds back in 1991. Through years of collecting her incredible releases I somehow managed to remain objective and I must admit as much as I am excited about her upcoming "Biophilia" album, the new single "Moon" didn't win me over yet... The video however is an entirely different story, a visual feast.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "Bed of Needles" - Steed Lord

The über-cool Icelanders from Steed Lord are back with another fabulous video. With each next song I fall more and more in love with Kali's powerful voice. Their esctatic mélange of energetic beats, juicy synths and hypnotic melodies is the winner! What a visual stunner too!

LA MURPHY SAGA CONTINUES: "Cré Ni A Forna" for Christophe Coppens' "Women of the Fields" S/S 2012 collection

My favourite of all muses Miss Róisín Murphy is back after months of artistic hiatus with this exuberant promo video for Christophe Coppens' new fashion collection. Most interestingly the video is accompanied by a taster of her brand new sounds that with its eerie atmosphere and eccentric style bring some of the most off-the-wall Moloko memories back. Who knows, perhaps it's the first sign of La Murphy's Ireland themed album, she mentioned a good few times in interviews before?

CHOONS OF THE DAY: "Amor Fati" + "Echoes" - Washed Out

So we finally have the official video for Washed Out's brand new single "Amor Fati". This uplifting track is not my favourite song on "Within and Without" but it will most certainly boost up Washed Out's already solid position among the most talked about indie acts of the past few months. I much prefer dreamy "Echoes" though which remains my top tune on his debut album.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "OVER" /// "ARABIAN HORSE" [Live @ Nasa] - Gus Gus

How am I gonna be able to survive such ecstatic live experience this October in Warsaw??? If Gus Gus are playing anywhere near you this autumn make sure you go and see them. Here's "Over" and the title track "Arabian Horse" from this year's album of the year by the coolest band in this part of galaxy!!!

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "En Enda Röst" - Det lilla extra

Det lilla extra sound like a mysterious bridge between the pioneers of the Swedish electronica scene The Knife and the new up-and-coming indie acts from Sverige - Museum of Bellas Artes and Nottee. It's dubby, it's trippy and it's utterly intriguing.

SHREM'S GUILTIEST OF PLEASURES... VOL. 25: "ROCKET TO YOUR HEART"/ "JUMP SHOUT" - Lisa

It's been a while since I posted something ultra-camp. How about this early 1980's Hi-Energy delicious trash made in Belgium?J'adorrrrre...

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "Calling Out" - Midnight Magic

Seriously how astonishing is Tiffany Roth's voice???!!! I am so glad nu-disco champions from Midnight Magic chose "Calling Out" to be the first video taken from their sensational and action packed brand new EP. My current number 1 track on my chart!

CHOONS OF THE DAY: "PHARAOHS" - SBTRKT feat. Roses Gabor + "INTO YOU (French Fries Remix)" - Greenmoney feat. Roses Gabor

If it was up to me, this year's Mercury Prize Award would go to SBTRKT. After the much loved "Wildfire" with Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano on vocals we have another single and another video from that excellent LP. "Pharaohs" was a stand-out track from the album from the very first listen. Roses Gabor, who recently stole my heart collaborating with Greenmoney on "Into You" (check out French Fries' delectable remix below), provides yet another smashing vocals. She might quite effortlessly become UK Funky's newly crowned queen. Top tune!

KEEP DA FLAVA OF DA OLDSKOOL: "MISS FAT BOOTY" - Mos Def

One of those timeless Hip-Hop singles of the 1990's. Check out also Aretha Franklin's wonderful "One Step Ahead" cleverly sampled on Mos Def's track.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "Desire" - Eli Escobar feat. Nomi Ruiz /// "Pressed" - Jessica 6

I've blogged about Nomi Ruiz ultra-catchy single with Eli Escobar twice again but now we have yet another opportunity to cherish this dancefloor gem with the arrival of its official video. I just realised I never posted "Pressed" before, Jessica 6's b-side on their anthemic single "White Horse". Only the most talented artists can afford to release such quality tracks as b-sides. It's one of Ruiz's most sublime vocal performances too... Sensual and sexy as always... The year of Nomi Ruiz continues...

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "Polish Girl" - Neon Indian /// "Cairo" - Kamp!

I remember seeing Neon Indian at Electric Picnic last year thinking this guy is going to make it. His new track "Polish Girl" is unexpectedly dancey, think this might be his best effort yet! Somehow along the Polish theme we have our best export at the moment, indie trio Kamp! that was way too cool for the Polish record labels to be signed so now instead they're enjoying a much deserved recognition among the hipsters of Europe via Discotexas. And if you haven't heard Moullinex sinfully good remix of "Cairo" yet do IT now!

DJ MEHDI 1977 – 13 September 2011 - R.I.P.

I'm speechless... Such a tragic loss...

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING "I Can Get Love" - Toro y Moi

Never in my wildest dreams that I expected Toro y Moi's new EP be so dancefloor friendly. Suddenly 1990's "intellectual dance scene" term rings a bell again. The whole "Freaking Out" EP is top notch, 5 out of 5, no fillers just killers! "I Can Get Love" is a pure ecstasy mix of house motives, murky multi-layered glo-fi production, 1980's clubland vibes and hypnotic beats. What a talented boy! P.S. I adore that pastel artwork too!

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "Blue Jeans" - Lana Del Rey

The "Gangsta Nancy Sinatra" is here with song number 2. I must admit it didn't blow me away as much as her monumental "Video Games" a few weeks back, but it certainly keeps me on my toes wondering what will debut album sound like... Additionally to her rather unique talent and spectacular voice, Miss Del Rey is also entirely self-sufficient both musically and visually (including the video for "Blue Jeans"). I am so intrigued by this girl...

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "Garden of Lies" - Georges Vert /// "Confusion" - Colder

Two enigmatic pieces of French electronica. I've been a massive fan of both for a long while now but never actually played them together until last week, the combination is truly alluring. Robots do have hearts.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "What?" - Bodi Bill

German indie darlings Bodi Bill have just released "What?" accompanied by this astonishing video. Not fully convinced on the song, the video however is simply breathtaking. Remember the phenomenal Siriusmo remix of their "Tip Toe Walk"? No? Here's a reminder!

SHREM'S WORLDLY DELIGHTS: "Amor Perfeito" - Elza Soares + "Que Pena (Ela já não gosta mais de mim)" - Gal Costa & Caetano Veloso

I have two sublime pieces from the never-ending resources of quality Brazilian music for you today. No other country had such an instantly recognisable, distinctive and unique sound back in the 60's and 70's. These two ladies sound gorgeous back to back. Beijinhos e abraçinhos para todos! ♡♡♡♡♡
